The record to kick-start the G.O.A.T campaign
Under the supervision of the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records, the brand set a record for clocking the ‘Fastest Multi-Car Relay of a Single Manufacturer on a Circuit’. The record was set at the Coimbatore Automotive Sports and Technical Training (CoASTT) track, where Škoda Auto India’s fleet of five cars set a time of 12:30:97. This makes Škoda Auto India the country’s fastest fleet in total time, including the time for pit-lane changeovers.

The Škoda Auto India fleet – consisting of the Kylaq 1.0 AT, Kushaq 1.5 DSG, Slavia 1.5 DSG, Octavia RS and the Kodiaq Selection L&K - was driven consecutively by five drivers in a single, uninterrupted timed relay, with pit-lane change overs and set a total time of 12:30.97. With the relay format of the record, it was crucial that every Škoda in the fleet was up to the mark at the limit to ensure quick times for the fleet.

The sub-4 m Kylaq clocked in 2:31.6, while the Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan recorded 2:29.7 and 2:27.63, respectively. The Kodiaq Selection L&K, with its uncompromising luxury, seven seats and 4x4 abilities, lapped the CoASTT circuit in 2:26.34, and Škoda Auto’s iconic sports sedan, the Octavia RS, topped the charts with 2:10.85 at the 3.8km long circuit.

The fleet proved its dynamism on the track, and its agility, manoeuvrability, braking ability and such dynamic aspects that finally translate to better control and safety on the road for Škoda Auto India customers. Combined with the five-star safety ratings across the product portfolio in various tests in India and globally, this record establishes Škoda Auto India as having the fastest and safest fleet in the country.

For years, citizens have grappled with long queues, overcrowded Sub-Registrar Offices (SROs), and a lack of premium ambience. To tackle these challenges, department is trying a solution i.e. “Model Sub-Registrar Office”, the department is establishing 60 dedicated Model Sub-Registrar Offices. These facilities will remain under strict government control and be staffed by departmental officials to ensure regulatory integrity, while specifically aiming to reduce crowded atmosphere found in traditional offices.To elevate the user experience, these model offices will feature enhanced service facilities and upgraded infrastructure, managed in partnership with a specialized agency. This hybrid approach combines government oversight with modern operational efficiency to ensure smooth, high-quality transactions. Importantly, these offices are entirely optional; citizens retain the flexibility to choose between the state-of-the-art environment of a model office or the standard services of a regular SRO, allowing for a more personalized and streamlined registration process.These offices will be governed strictly by the department only.”

A staple in Indian diets, wheat is a rich source of complex carbohydrates, dietary fibre, and B vitamins. It also provides some protein in the form of gluten, a natural protein that gives dough its elasticity and helps maintain the structure of foods like roti and bread. Whole wheat, when consumed as part of a balanced diet, supports gut health and overall metabolic function.

In recent years, gluten has been widely misunderstood, with many individuals eliminating it without a clear medical indication. However, current medical evidence suggests that gluten is safe and well tolerated by most people. Unwarranted elimination may lead to reduced intake of fibre and essential nutrients, potentially impacting digestive health and overall nutritional balance.

“Gluten is often perceived as unhealthy due to popular diet trends, but for most individuals, it is completely safe and an integral part of a balanced diet. Eliminating gluten without medical advice can lead to nutritional deficiencies and may adversely affect gut health,” said Dr. Amit Bansal, Senior Consultant, Gastroenterology, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana.

This first-of-its-kind initiative in India was part of IATA’s global campaign of conducting Proofs-of-Concept (PoCs) for International Contactless travel journeys in key markets across the globe.

Earlier this year, IndiGo and Digi Yatra Foundation had successfully implemented cutting-edge Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) based ecosystem utilising biometric technology for contactless passenger processing at airports and an app-to-app integration enabling seamless sharing of boarding passes between their-mobile applications. Building on the successful model, IndiGo and Digi Yatra Foundation, in association with BIAL, have demonstrated the viability and scalability of this technology to enable international travel. This marks a significant step towards fullscale deployment and ushers in the next phase of digital travel.
